Dr. David Basch started the Spine & Orthopedic Center of New Jersey in 2001. He and his entire medical and support staff are truly dedicated to giving their patients the “personal touch.”

Dr. Basch is a spine and orthopedic surgeon in Sparta, New Jersey. He graduated with honors from UMDNJ Medical School in 1989 and has over 30 years of diverse experience. Dr. Basch is affiliated with Hudson Regional Hospital, as well as several surgical centers.
Dr. Basch has received awards from; Vitals Awards for Compassionate Doctor Recognition (2018) and Patients’ Choice Award (2008, 2018).
Matthew J. Poppe, PA-C
Matthew Poppe’s interest in medicine began after being diagnosed with an osteochondroma in high school and undergoing surgery. This inspired him to pursue a career in medicine graduating from Quinnipiac University and continuing his studies at UMDNJ and eventually settling down in NJ. After completing his studies he began working at a Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation and Pain Management practice for several years before joining Spine & Orthopedic Center of New Jersey in 2006. He has been assisting Dr. Basch ever since.
When Matthew is not working he enjoys surfing, playing his guitar, hiking and camping.
